Lack of timely hitting and too many miscues on defense results in a loss to league leading Miami East on Tuesday night.
Miami East opened up scoring in the first inning. A Francis’s sac fly scored one run for Miami East. In the bottom of the first inning, National Trail Blazers Varsity tied things up at one when Stiner hit an infield single and an error scored one run for National Trail Blazers Varsity.
Miami East pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run for Miami East and J Ellis was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Miami East scored four runs in the seventh inning. G Lemaster, N Woolley, and C Apple all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
T Kirby pitched Miami East to victory. The fireballer surrendered three runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out nine. Cameron Harrison took the loss for National Trail Blazers Varsity. The righthander went six innings, allowing four runs on five hits and striking out two.
National Trail Blazers Varsity collected five hits on the day. Clay Stiner and Isaac Arnold all managed multiple hits for National Trail Blazers Varsity. Arnold and Stiner all had two hits to lead National Trail Blazers Varsity.
