After shooting a season best 371 on Friday in the first round of the OHSAA State Championship, the National Trail Girls recorded a 381 to finish with a 2 day score 752, which put them in 9th Place as a team. It wasn’t quite the round we were hoping for but it was a tremendous experience for this group and they cannot be disappointed with how they finished the season. As a coach I can’t be more proud of the way these girls put together their best rounds when it mattered most and the work they put in to get to this point is a great testament to their hard work. They deserved to be here and they proved that and were able to achieve the goal we set out to achieve which was to best the 2011 State qualifying team’s score of 760 and to finish in the Top 10. To do that is something I’m proud of them for doing and something they will be able to remember.
Final scores and places for the Blazers were:
Makenna Jones 76-83-159 (14th Place)
Savanna Abner 98-96-194 (46th Place)
Katelyn Hines 93-103-196 (50th Place)
Caitlin Gilland 104-100-204 (59th Place)
Makena Laird 107-102-209 (62nd Place)
Congratulations girls on a tremendous season!!
