The varsity track team was back in action Monday at Brookville High School for a four team meet. The girls team came in fourth scoring 22 points. The boys team was able to come in 3rd scoring 43 points. Both teams have worked hard an many personal best times, throws, or jumps were achieved.
Scoring for the girl’s team was Lauren Sargeant (2nd in the 3200m run and 4th in the 1600m run), Halle Osborne (5th in the 1600m run), Alli Whitesell (3rd in the 300m hurdles, Cait Gilland (2nd in the discus), and Hailey Givens (4th in high jump). The iron woman relay team (S. Norton, L Norton, M. Miller, and Cait Gilland) placed second. Special shout out to Hailey Givens for clearing the high jump bar for the first time in her career.
Scoring for the boys were Tyler Porter (3rd in the 1600m run, and 2nd in the 800m run), Josh Bishop (2nd in the 3200 and 1600m runs), Kaleb Zapfe (1st in the 100m dash, and 3rd in the 400m dash), Jacob Ray (4th in the 100m dash, and 5th in long jump), and Kevin Christensen (4th in the 400m dash). The 4x800m team (Bishop, Osborn, Porter, Weaver) placed 2nd. The 4×400 team (Zapfe, Ray, Porter, Christensen) placed 2nd as well. The iron man team (H. Miller, K. Glander, N. Bottoms, T. Watson) place second in their event. Special shout out to Tyler Porter for a 6 second PT in the 800m run, and the 4×400 team for dropping about 3 seconds off their time.
The Blazers will return to action this Saturday at Milton Union High School for the Bulldog Classic.
