National Trail High School 13th 426

The varsity boys golf team continued their solid start to the season with a 13th place finish at Covington high school’s Dan Kendig Memorial Tournament. This event is played at Echo Hills golf course, which has given many of the boys trouble over the years, but this time they responded with solid rounds from multiple Blazers. Khyler Grant led the way with a 97. He improved over 35 strokes from his score at last year’s tournament. Tyler Porter shot the next lowest score, finishing with a 107. Austin Knapp was just behind carding a 108, and Zachary Rutan rounded out the scoring with a 114. Their 426 was 1 stroke better than Monday’s score. Sam Roberts and Jesse Norton also played for the Blazers, but their scores of 120 and 121 respectively did not count toward the team score. The boys are really working hard at practice and look forward to continued improvement throughout the season.
