The 7th grade boys fought their tails off to defend home court in the first round of the CCC tournament, winning by a score of 38-30 over the Bethel Bees. The Bees came out launching threes and landing most of them to take a lead at the half, but our Blazers weathered the storm and played great basketball in the second half to make up the difference and pull safely ahead in the fourth.
The Blazers were led in scoring by Logan Smith who played from start to finish, scoring a season high 21 points. Bryce Thompson added 5 points, and both big men were the beneficiaries of some great driving and passing by guard Drew Dewitt who lead the Blazer attack and scored 5 points of his own. Also scoring for the Blazers were Chase Ruebush (3), Jamison Watts (2), and Cooper Lee (2).
The win moves the 6th seeded Blazers into the second round against the 3rd seeded Trojans, a game that will be played in Arcanum Monday night.
